It was nearing the time of day that most people would label as the evening, but it wasn't quite late enough to be there. The sun was still easily visible in the west, for one, having not sunk to even the point where it reached the horizon, though in another hour it would be at that point. Lights didn't shine out of buildings because it was still too bright to tell if someone had a light on in their house. That, and it would have been creepy to being staring in the windows of homes to see if the lights were on.
Kelp Rawford hugged her sleeved arms to her chest, taking comfort in the soft blue fabric. She'd worn her favorite dress today when she would start a pokemon journey. It wouldn't be her first pokemon ever but the small meowth that she had recieved as a present when she was a little girl had remained at home, being far too pampered to take up the traveling life so late in it's life. Besides, Kelp's niece was attached to the feline and Kelp wouldn't have felt right seperating the two of them, nevermind that Mrowr was her pokemon and not Jenny's.
Being unsure about whether or not to knock-was a lab a public building or a private building?-she chose to knock. She might look foolish but she preferred that to making someone angry because she she had barged in without knocking. She didn't rap on the door three times, as was often the case in such manners, but five times. Only the last one, however, was really loud enough to hear.
