Edan was born in the same town that he grew up in, hand in hand with fire type Pokemon. He recieved a Charmander for his first Pokemon, and his talent immediatley soared. He was called a child prodigy, filling the role of gym leader when he was fourteen. And from that age on, the gym that had once been called the weakest gym in the region became one of the best. He was always the funny guy, the one who played the jokes.
Four years later, She came. Riley Blaze. At first, she was just a friend, but as the years passed and she trained under him, he came to have an affection to the girl who was three years younger than him. He always had a problem with facing the emotions he felt. Not willing to come to terms with himself, he retired, giving her the gym and going off to train. Scorch and Zeke were the only two of his Pokemon that came with him from the Gym. The others stayed, not wanting to leave their home. Raph gets homesick, too, though he'd never admit it.
Five months after he left the Gym, he caught a cyndaquil that he named Rex. This gave him three Pokemon, and more to do. He wanted to be the very best, the best fire Pokemon trainer ever. So a year later, when he found a Growlithe caught in a poacher's trap, he couldn't help himself. He befriended her, making her his first ever female Pokemon, and found that her personality reminded him of a certain young woman. So he named her Riley.
