Emerging from the stair way first, Teyl swooped down, landing on the railing. His eyes scanned the room, watching. His trainer and other friends emerged within moments, finally up on the second floor. "Well, here we are. If you guys want to turn around..." KL started, looking back down the stairs.
<Nope. I'm all good.>>I'm staying until I defeat something.< Her pokemon obviously wanted to stay. She looked down at the Jirachi in her arms, still silently watching. It was better than his previous stage. "Okay. Here we go, then." She said, starting forward.

As the group steadily wondered around the level, the trainer would've felt something rather soft beneath her feet followed by a loud ear piercing howl of pain that could break an eardrum. The fur ball swiftly removed itself from underneath KL with a loud growl and a piercing raven gaze that showed it's anger. And upon closer examination, the beast was shown to be a Houndour that had been accidentally trampled upon in the darkness. However there was no time to explain that the 'disrespect' was no more then an accident as the hell hound sent an Ember attack at the Taillow.

>Again, with the fire!< Teyl twittered, twisting out of the way so that only a few of his tail feathers were burned. "Use peck! KL said, and Boo started cheering him on as he dove towards the Houndour, beak glowing white.

The small black canine gave a slight whimper as she was hit unexpectedly with the Taillow's peck attack, giving the bird a rather confused look as if to ask why he didn't flee at the sight of her. However, the appearance did not remain solid for long as the Houndour sent another ember attack at her opponent before using a Leer on the bird Pokemon as well in hopes to lower it's defense.

>Shut up, you psychotic Ralts! You're breaking my concentration!< Teyl said, shooting a glare at his 'companion', who was still cheering loudly. She heard him, gave one last cheer, then stopped, giggling. "Avoid the Ember, take the Leer, and use Peck again!" KL said, a grin covering her face. Houndour! This was a sure fire winner. Now all she needed to do was defeat her, and catch her.

Now, with a much higher level of expectancy for the Taillow's attack, the beast easily dodged on swift paws before lunging at the bird Pokemon, flames engulfing her body in mid-spin before rapidly breaking into a spin in a truly awing Fire Spin attack that shot at Teyl in what one would've thought was a bird's territory.

Teyl's wing was set aflame by the blaze, causing him to rapidly beat it to get the flames to receed. Now he was truly a sight - scorched, burned, covered in soot. He glared at the Houndour, swooping down to the floor, flying merely inches above it. With his defense down, he looked to his mistress. "Quick Attack!" She said, almost shaking with excitement. She was catching so many Pokemon! After this, she'd need to leave the tower. Perhaps train them, beat the gym, and find another place to train.

Landing and unable to react soon enough to evade the quick attack, the female hound gave a sharp yelp as the Quick Attack struck as she was unsuspecting of it and again in a rather critical spot, continuing to give a sharp whimper afterwards as she tumbled yet got to her paws quick enough. Taking a moment to lick her wound with her long pink tongue, the Houndour then glared at the Taillow, now much more irritated that she was considerably weakened by the critical hit. However, it did not prevent a powerful ember from erupting out of her gaping growling maw.

Teyl was hit head on with the Ember, causing more damage and singeing the remainder of his feathers. He more resembled a Murkrow now. He gave a harsh, outraged cry, diving at the Houndour again without waiting for his mistress's command. His Quick Attack was aimed for the throat.

Underestimating the bird's savagery and the swiftness of the attack, the Houndour gave a sharp whine of pain as the attack hit but in another fit of rage with Teyl still at a very close angle a weak yet very effective ember shot once more from her mouth, though the hell hound still gave a whine of pain, her beautiful black fur slightly matted with open wounds.

KL stared at Teyl in shock, blinking. She hadn't known his temper was so bad. The Ember caught him in the face, burning part of his beak. He collapsed on the ground, staggering to his feet with wings dragging. KL threw the Pokeball in her hand, and it hit the floor and bounced before opening and consuming the Houndour. She held her breath.

A limp in her paw and a grudging look of hate in her eyes for the Taillow, she was consumed by the pokeball. The ball shook once.. twice.. a third, stronger shake but despite it the Pokeball gave a sound 'ping' noting the fire hound's capture.
Congrats! Wild Houndour Was Caught!

Teyl collapsed, gasping for breath. KL recalled him to his Pokeball, retrieving the Houndour's ball and she and her Pokemon made it back down the stairs and out of the tower without much incident. Once they could see the sky again, KL started searching for the nearest Pokemon center.
