KL stood at the beginning of Route One, staring at the Pokeball in her hand. Ralts. A girl, she had been told. Well, it was time to meet her new partner in crime. She threw the ball up into the air, and the flash and beam of red light quickened her pulse.
<Hello!> She said, immediately twirling in a circle, nearly falling over. "Hello." She replied, kneeling down so that she was closer to her Pokemon. She watched the Pokemon clumsily attempt to dance for a minute, then busted out laughing when the little psychic type landed on her rear after a particularly troublesome twirl.
As she was laughing, the Ralts came over, standing about two inches from her face. <Are you my new Trainer?>
"Yeah, I guess..."She said, trailing off. "Do you come with a name, or what?" She asked, patting the clumsy Pokemon on the head as she stood up. <No. I think you have to give me a name.> She said, and KL chuckled.
"Let's get started on this path, and we'll think of one as we go." She said, taking the first few steps. The Ralts went to follow, only to fall down after a few steps. "Here. 1st class." She said, picking the Pokemon up and setting her on her shoulder. They talked as they walked, trying to think of a name.

As the young trainer and her Ralts traveled through the forest, a wild Cherrim burst from some of the tall grass and ran in tears between the legs of KL and back into the grass. A little baffling but, who could question what Pokemon did? Well, the reason for it was soon revealed as a blue blur came flying from the sky and swift landed upon the ground in a tumble and an angered look in it's raven eyes. A wild Taillow, one that had been hunting that Cherrim for quite awhile now and the annoyance that it felt from losing the small berry Pokemon was positively infuriating! Where had that little beast gone..? But it was only when the Taillow stood that he saw KL and her Ralts and broke into an offensive stance, realizing that it was most likely this trainer that had frightened off it's prey. With a cry, the Taillow swiftly aimed a Peck attack at the young female.

KL gasped, flinching away from the charging Pokemon. "Watch out, Boo!" Her mother's pet name for her had slipped out of her mouth while she was trying to defend herself and her Pokemon from the charging Taillow. The Ralts smiled, cheering. <That's my name! Boo!>[/color] She said, then aimed a Growl at the Pokemon attacking her trainer. "Stop it!" KL said, swinging her arm at the flying-type Pokemon.

"Moi! Ice Punch!" a female's voice shouted as a large female Flaotzel jumped from the bushes, her clenched paw swirling with an icy blue color and a certain cold temperature about it before connecting it with slower Taillow's side in a fierce Ice Punch. "Gimme my TM back ya damn bird!" the human voice barked once more as a small disc dropped from the one of the Pokemon's small grip before falling to the floor. As the bird fainted and fell to the floor, the Floatzel grabbed the TM before looking to the scruffy female running through the woods. "Great! Teach that little-" she began but her words were cut short as she had to skid to a stop to avoid ramming into KL at full speed. An almost confused and questioning look tainted her gaze as the female thief known as Kaitou looked to the other trainer but it swiftly dissipated as her Floatzel moved back to her side, tapping her on the shoulder with her large paw that brought Kaitou back into reality with a shake of her head. "Uh.. I-I'm sorry, was that your Pokemon? I can lend you a potion for it.." Kaitou said rather sheepishly with a dark grimace as she looked to the fainted Pokemon laying upon the grass.
And then Kaitou looked back up to KL but with her eyes secretly scanning the trainer and her Pokemon. A low leveled bunch of Pokemon, even if that Taillow was her's, and nothing more then a trainer that was young and just entering the fierce world of Pokemon. Damn.. Oh well, I still need to cash in that TM.. she thought but not wanted to seem to incredibly suspicious, Kaitou stayed in place.

"No, it wasn't mine. He was attacking us." KL said, watching the other female with confused eyes. She was so powerful! A fierce longing to be that strong, to be able to defend herself, to be able to beat her opponents, overwhelmed her. <Who're you?> Boo asked, being incredibly nosy.
"You don't have to answer." She said, putting a finger over her Pokemon's mouth. "I'm KL." She said, then looked at the Taillow. "I'm kinda new at this..." She said, wondering if she was allowed to try to catch a Pokemon that someone else knocked out.

Giving a slight sigh of relief as she heard that the Taillow did not belong to the younger trainer, she glanced to the Ralts and then to KL. "Nice to meet you. My name's Kaitou and no worries. Here, if that Ralts is your only Pokemon.." Kaitou began but trailed off as she retrieved a Pokeball from her jacket and gave it a toss towards the fainted Taillow, a red vapor enveloping the young bird until it was taken into the ball and with two quick shakes, the ball gave a ping noting that this Pokemon had not given much fight to being caught. "You can have it, I've got a full party anyway. And uh.. You just came from the lab, didn't you?" Kaitou inquired, noting how weak and overall new her young Ralts looked, like her trainer.
"If I recall correctly, the lab only hands out level five Pokemon, and Ralts only knows Growl at level five and doesn't learn a new technique for.. Well, let's just say awhile. You won't catch any wild Pokemon like that! If it were me I would've chosen something like a Houndour or a Starly but, to each their own.." Kaitou said with a shrug before rummaging through her pocket and pulling out a small disc as well as taking the other disc from Moi. "These TMs teach ThunderBolt and Psychic, two attacks that a Ralts can learn. Take 'em, I was just gonna sell the things," Kaitou said with a wink, offering the young trainer two TMs as Moi gave a small chuckle. ~ Master's getting quite soft.. ~ the Floatzel muttered in her 'Pokespeach'.

"Um... I was going to pick Houndour, but I heard they were stubborn, and Ralts fits me better..." She said, feeling slightly flustered. When Kaitou handed her the Pokeball and the TMs, she gasped. "But, how... I should repay you for these, at least. If you were going to sell them..." She drifted off, sighing.
"Thank you." She said, looking over her shoulder at her Pokemon, still sitting there. <Yes, Thanks! Now I can defend us!>[/color] Boo said, waving back and forth as she kicked her legs. She looked at the Pokeball, still in her other hand. "I wonder why he was attacking us. We didn't do anything..." She said, sighing.

With a glance at the Pokeball, Kaitou lifted her shoulders with in a large sigh. "Who can ever explain what Pokemon do, really. And I don't need money, honestly," Kaitou said and though it didn't show, the thief winced and mentally clawed herself like a scratching post for uttering out those words. Was she going a bit soft as Moi had commented? And then she remembered the trainer she had robbed those TMs from. No.. No not at all. And with that, the older trainer smirked and grabbed onto another Pokeball, releasing her Flygon ; Mamoru. "Anyway, I need to get going. Sendai Village is the next town to here, but you might want to train your Pokemon a bit before you take on a Gym Leader like Cassie.." Kaitou said and mounted Mamoru, locking her arms arms his long neck and relaxing against his back. "I hope to see you again, KL. When you get stronger of course," the thief purred with a wink towards the beginning trainer. And of course when you have more valuable items she mentally added.

"O-o-okay..." She said, waving goodbye at the person she had just met, yet was already idolizing. She was so powerful! And she had amazing Pokemon... She decided, then and there, that she would become powerful, just like Kaitou.
After she left, KL used the TMs on Boo, and the two spent the rest of their way through Route One practicing those moves, and no other huge occurances happened.
