"... I'm hungry..." Tsukia muttered.
Her Buizel, that she had nicknamed Seisui, which ment clear pure water in Japanese, nodded.
Sitting down on a rock the teen and her pokemon clustered around her black backpack and looked inside.
"... Damn. It's still empty..." She muttered, picking up a bottle of ketchup. "Apparently reverse psycology doesn't work on inanimate objects... Who knew?"
The pokemon rolled his eyes, but suddenly froze, walking over to the bushes like a robot.
"What is it, Seisui?" Tsukia asked, following him and freezing as well.
There was a family of four. Having a cookout. A cookout with FOOD.
Both the girl and the pokemon turned to look at the other.
"Are you thinking what I'm thinking?" The teen asked.
The pokemon nodded.
"A lesson to remember, my friend. It's not illegal if you don't get caught!"
The two put their heads together and began plotting ways to steal the food.

As both the trainer and her new found Pokemon began to creep closer to the family having a nice cookout in Route One, Tsukia stepped on something rather hard and a bit squishy.. And if she took time to look it was an orange object but it had.. Mushrooms on it's back? There was no more time to further examine the creature as whatever she was stepping on crawled out beneath her feet with an angry look in it's buggy eyes. A Paras! A very unhappy Paras that brought up it's pincers in an offensive position.

Seisui, noticing movement out of the corner of his eye, tapped his trainer on the shoulder. "Bui." He said.
"Er... What?" The girl had been plotting to use the Buizel's sonicboom attack to distract the family while she ran in and grabbed as much food as possible. She looked down at the angry pokemon. "Oh."
Quickly the teen jumped back. "Umm..."
Okay... Right. My first pokemon battle...
The water fox pokemon took his place in front of the girl while she thought.
"Mkay... Seisui, use sonicboom!" She said.
The Buizel nodded, attacking the mushroom pokemon.

The forest that surrounded them being the bug and grass Pokemon's key territory, the wild beast was able to easily duck into the bushes to evade the Sonic Boom attack. Moving rather swiftly for a bug Pokemon, the creature appeared in the bushes once more closer to Seisui with gaping jaws that attempted to grip the otter Pokemon's skin in a Bug Bite attack. Though that wasn't the end of his attack as the wild Paras aimed one of it's pincers at the Buizel in an additional scratch attack!

Seisui jumped back a few feet, the force of the two attacks taking it's toll on the pokemon.
Okay... Think Tsukia, think!
The pokemon knew the forest well, so it could dodge attacks pretty easily...
The teen blinked.
It could dodge the sonicboom attack... But maybe if we hit it head on...
"Alright!" The girl said, trying to sound confident even though this was her first battle. "Seisui, use quick attack to get close! Then attack with sonic boom!"
She crossed her fingers, hoping it would work.

It was definitely a hit, and quite a powerful Sonic Boom, sending the creature a few feet back. But during its trip backwards, it had released a Stun Spore, in hopes of getting it to paralyze the Buizel. Landing roughly and rolling, the Paras bolted to its feet, seeming to go into a mad dash toward the opponent, preparing for another Bug Bite and Scratch combination.

Tsukia bit her bottom lip. This was definetly not good.
Seisui could barley move, and she had no idea how many more bug bite and scratch combo's he could take.
Hm... Maybe I could try...
"Seisui! Try using a sonic boom to knock the Paras back!"
Maybe I can buy myself enough time... She reached into her backpack and took out a pokeball. She had very good aim. She just needed an opening to try to capture the mushroom pokemon.

The Sonic Boom may have been weak, but the Paras was thrown off course, landing a very feeble attack on the Buizel. Clearly irritated that its Stun Spore was hardly helping, it raised its pincers and began to rapidly attack, sending several scratches at the opponent; it had no idea staying in one spot was quite a bad idea, especially at this moment. After all, nothing else was moving, besides its pincers.

Here's my chance!
Tsukia thought, throwing the red and white sphere at the mushroom pokemon.
The bug and grass type was covered in a red aura.
The teen crossed her fingers and waited.

The Scratch attacks ceased almost immediately, due to the shock of seeing an overpowering red vapor curling around it. He would have flailed, if only it was effective. In only a second, the Paras was in the device, struggling, and thus causing the ball to shudder upon the ground. A few moments later, the creature gave up, allowing itself to be captured. As soon as its struggles stopped, the ball quit shuddering, with a light 'ping' to announce a successful capture.

Wild Paras has been caught! It has been added to your party.
