I feel that I understand now.
The reason we are all so afraid.
Afraid of letting go
once we've fallen in love.

Is it like falling off a cliff,
grabbing a ledge halfway down?
It feels like it to me, because
you have to make such a difficult decision.

You're holding on so tight,
afraid of letting go
and losing everything.
You have hope someone could save you.

Yet, you know there's the possibility
of something else, below you and waiting
to catch you, rescue you,
if you are to fall.

You also know,
you could be hoping falsely
for any kind of rescue.
You know that you could be alone.

Perhaps I do not know why.
Perhaps I am wrong.
But these reasons that took so long to realize
seem good enough for me.
