Shiny-ness is also apparently kept, which hasn't happened on the pokemon icons before. You can check how they're doing, like in Yellow, and apparently they pick up items too, like in Amity Square on DPP.

Legendary Info
Apart from Lugia and Ho-Oh, other legendaries are available in these games: Groudon, Kyogre and Rayquaza.
Groudon is in Soul Silver, and Kyogre is in Heart Gold. They are catchable after the Elite Four.
Rayquaza is available once both are brought onto the same save file.

PokeWalker

Now, this is cool.
A new gadget that they're bundling with HGSS, like the wireless adapter with FRLG presumably. You transfer one pokemon over to the PokeWalker, and take it places with you. It's like a pedometer, and the pokemon will slowly level up and get happier as you walk.
They also let you find items and play mini-games.
All I can say is, I WANT IT. Hopefully it works with the DS Lite as well as the DSi.

I want whichever one has Ho-oh in it, which by the look of things is HeartGold. What about Suicune, Entei and Raikou? Oh, this is really cool! Could you imagine having Rayquazza following you around?

I really hope you can trade with D/P on this, and transfer, cos then I'd be able to get like all the legendaries! Squee!

Wow, Pokemon has come a long way hasn't it? I remember jumping up and down because the Pokemon Red game for the Color was coming out. Now it's just.. Wow. I didn't think Diamond and Pearl was all that great but I can say this game looks spectacular. Reminds me of Pokemon Mystery Dungeon [which is coming out with a third game soon].

Ho-Oh should be in both, actually. In Gold and Silver, Lugia and Ho-Oh were in both games, and the game you had only affected their levels. c:

The legendary beasts are presumably still in the game. The 3 birds were in FRLG.

And yes, you can trade with D/P, as there's data on those games for a 'Johto' location.

That's so cool. ^^ I'm excited about that PokeWalker too, since I lost my Pokemon Pikachu a long time ago. And walking is way easier than fighting wild Pokemon to level up. xD

Just wondering, were the original gold and silver games the ones that had both Kanto and Johto in it?

My friend showed me this a month ago and I thought it was a scandal... But I'm excited it's not! I'll probably get gold, since it has Growlithe in it. Besides, the first gold I got, I couldn't save the game. I would have to play all until the battery on my Gameboy Color ran out.

I crapped a brick when I read about the PokéWalker... I want it bad, man. I mean really bad.

Well in the original gold and silver, I remember growlithe being exclusive to gold, and vulpix being exclusive to silver. I wonder if they will keep to the same thing, or mix them.
