"I don't remember hinting I would mind misfortune," the feminine stated quietly, but clearly - and almost simply. It was difficult to not catch on that she was not going to let go of her offer easily. Even with the boy's crimsons closed, her sapphires remained locked on his handsome face; she took a minuscule step forward, silent and graceful. She began to wonder if tranquility was growing too gentle to convince him, but she refused to allow her emotionless exterior to break. Perhaps a few more words would convince him.
Ayane blinked her blue hues for a moment, but she did not keep them closed. Almost stealthily, she took a step closer to Crescent, ignoring the boundary she would not allow any soul to pass; this time, she was allowing him to pass, inviting him even. And, despite her dislike of getting too close physically and emotionally, she took a few more steps closer, until they were only a foot apart. "You may not wish to bring me burdens, but who is there to say I cannot handle them?"
It was clear as a black object in bright sunlight; she was hinting, 'Join me. Please.' For a moment, she almost unconsciously reached out toward his hand, gaining an urge to gently take it to keep his attention - but she resisted, for she knew she would greatly despise her own actions if she did so. Yes, she had already begun to take a great liking to the boy, and she did greatly want him beside her. But she would not push her own boundaries too far; leaving a gap only the measure of a foot between them was enough for her at the moment.

Unsuccessful. As Ayane spoke, Crescent could only inwardly wince at those words that pained him more then any weapon. And as his sensitive hearing picked up her footsteps and without even a single glance into the world before him Crescent felt her approaching and as they were only a foot apart ; discomfort set in though the man did not take a step back from her. He had failed to discourage her, and now he didn't know if he had the will to muster up something, anything to ensure her absence from his travels... Yes.. Yes who was to say she could not cope with his burdens in the same manner that he did? Calmly, cooly, simply living with them as if they were nothing past the ordinary. Yes... Yes but no. She still had not seen what his burdens were so what was to ensure her joining him on his escapades? But he could feel her sapphire hues burning into him, like a needling injecting even more toxins that willed him away from concern and towards his wishes.
"What do you find so desirable that you won't give in?" Crescent stated almost bluntly, wondering if he was now just a simple game. If she convinced him to join her then there would be no more fun in it and he would be tossed aside. If there was anything Crescent truly feared it was his own emotions, and rejection was a bullet that he had avoided. A striking blow that he would attempt to keep dodging.
"I haven't met a single soul like you," the man said and now, opened his eyes. Yet instead of the beautiful crescent pools that shimmered in the moonlight, these were quite different. They seemed to be a mixture of lighter reds in constant motion, as if it were plasma now now coating those pools. Not only had his iris changed but as did his pupil, the once perfectly rounded sphere now a sliver that might've resembled a cat or demon's. This was his 'scar' that told whomever looked into his eyes that he truly was a cursed individual. Though oddly enough, these 'different' eyes seemed to only illuminate his features more, as if they had a factor that allowed them to steal the light from the heavenly moon for their own grace. That phantom smile played at her lips again, and it seemed as if her sapphires grew almost soft, though they were slightly glazed over; a shield was concealing the rest of her emotions, the emotions she hated whenever they betrayed her. But there was a feeling of unease within her, and it wasn't from the fact that she had left her faithful Pokemon a few feet back; she would never feel uncomfortable, for she knew that he would come to her aide if she were to need it. No, the unease was from the feelings she felt, that sparked in the atmosphere before her; it was the boy's emotions, and though they were faint as fading spirits... she could feel them, feel them as if they were ashes, blown freshly from a fire that would harm her skin. Inwardly, she sighed softly.
At his question, Ayane closed her blue hues. Yes, a good question. What was it that kept her from giving in? For she knew, even if she wanted him beside her, as much as she wanted Rayquaza in her possession, or perhaps even more than that, she would have allowed him to leave by now. Now, it dawned on her. There was something else keeping her here, keeping her around him. Something was whispering in her mind, urging her to not give up, to keep attempting to get him to accompany her in her travels. But what was it? And why did it force her to do such harm by not giving up? Her right hand swiftly but silently shifted into a fist, her nails pressing hard on her palm; yet, her emotionless exterior stubbornly refused to waver. It could have been betrayed - but her hand soon loosened, though there were red marks on her palm from where her nails dug into.
When Crescent reopened his crimsons, something almost gagged within her, something that forced her unease to grow. Yet, she felt as if she were drawn to it. Then, she felt that she figured out his reasons in shooting down her offer; he was a cursed human, cursed by a Pokemon. She had heard of it, but never had she met a human who was cursed. Unconsciously, she took a small step forward, her azure gaze locked with his red, lively gaze; she had seen those eyes on a Ninetales. Before her mind could process any actions she should do, her hand slowly, unconsciously, reached out and her fingers gently grazed his wrist.
Then, she blinked, breaking the trance she seemed to have been caught in. Inwardly, she shook herself - and she felt Ryuu take a few steps closer, but she used her free hand to signal that she was fine. Glancing into his stunning eyes again, there was a flame in hers, as if fire and ice were able to be mixed together, dancing wildly within. "You may be cursed, Crescent," she whispered, a firmness coating her calm tone, her angelic voice seeming to grow strong, "But I could care less. I want you to accompany me, and something won't allow me to give up."

As Ayane's pale skinned finger began to gently graze across his wrist, Crescent felt rather shocked though this he did not portray. Could this woman still have that damned thought stuck in her head..? The thought of him joining her on journeys..? Impossible. That was the simple thought crossing his mind ; impossible, absolutely impossible. And yet something tugged at him.. What if she truly didn't mind this truth that haunted him, the reason for turning the single person whom he considered to be truly respect worthy and beautiful in personality? And then that voice, that heavenly voice, appeased his utmost desires.. The fire of passion that was now kindled, growing into a flickering, dancing flame that seemed more warming then the tailcoat he wore in the cold night near the Ruins.
That was the confirmation that Crescent needed and with that, the man pulled his hand away from Ayane's slight grasp and slowly interwove his fingers with her own in a gentle grasp of her hand before actually allowing a faint yet true, even warm smile to cross his lips. There was no use in escaping these desires and that flame of passion that was slowly being fed to rise would do nothing but burn him if Crescent attempted to extinguish it. With the moon high in the sky by now, it acted as the single witness to the display that both fairly cold trainers had begun to show. Like a slow steady waltz, the various shades of red in Crescent's eyes danced something dazzling, a sight that may of even made a frightened onlooker see the magic within those beautiful pools ; maybe even past the barrier that his very soul kept in full guard.
"Then.." he began, the chill that had once grasped his voice like Winter's frost turning into nothing but vapor as he leaned forward far enough so that he swooped slowly past Ayane's face to nearly rest upon her shoulder. "Consider me your companion," Crescent finished in the same velvet purr of a voice he originally had though this was in an almost seductive whisper to her sensitive ears ; his voice so smooth it would not prove bothersome. And with that, Crescent correct his posture and closed his eyes once more only to open them a moment later to reveal the same natural crimson hues that he was blessed with. [/size]

At first, when he jerked away, she felt as if she had done something to provoke him, but it was soon that he swiftly showed his actual intention. A chill slowly trickled down the woman's spine at the contact, but she refused to allow it to grasp control over her; she did not close her eyes, nor did she faintly shudder. No, she remained perfectly calm, and though she appeared void of emotion, there was a spark within her gaze; at the moment, two sides of her were clashing, and they definitely wanted two different things. One, her usual instinct, was to jerk away from the boy, to keep from making contact with him again, and to back away so she would create a comfortable gap between them; and two, the rarest instinct of all, which was to stay close, to even fight the impulse that screamed for her to back away. And, amazingly, the latter prevailed; she gently closed her hand down on his, her fingers going to rest on the back of his hand, and her palm touching his palm, just like his hand did to hers. For once, it did not cause a clenching feeling within her.
Glancing into Crescent's crimsons, Ayane watched as the shades of crimson danced, as if magic was being contained so carefully within them. And as she glanced at the rest of his face, she noticed a new kind of smile, the kind that was warm and seemed much more real than the smiles he had revealed to her during the first few moments when they spotted each other. It seemed ghastly; but those orbs also seemed to be captivating to any soul that dared attempt to grow fond of the owner, any who dared glance into those eyes without fear - any who dared befriend the one who wore that hauntingly gorgeous gaze. And perhaps she was proud to be the first.
When he leaned closer, another chill ran its cold fingers slowly down her spine, as if attempting to tickle her and break her shield. But, she resisted once again, and it assisted her when he spoke, in such a smooth, velvety voice. His tone, his voice - his words; they all allowed her to feel slightly more relaxed, even with their bodies that close. Why, at his words, that phantom smile returned - but this time, it seemed more firm, not as easy to be chased away as before. Once he straightened his posture, she closed her sapphires for a moment, regaining full control of herself, as well as the calmness that threatened to flee. And when she reopened her eyes, she was greeted by the site of those natural, stunning red eyes. She gave him a nod, finalizing that they were now traveling companions.

Upon her nod of approval that was the signature upon their binding contract, Crescent slowly lightened his gentle grasp and slid their interlaced fingers apart, parting their moment of physical contact slowly with his sweet touch. Perhaps.. No, he would leave his feelings of loneliness ; all of his mortal feelings that involved the question of never having a companion to travel with would rest here in the ruins for tonight to create his own ghost among the other alleged spirits of this abandoned cathedral. And hopefully those emotional ghosts would not come seeking him in the distant future. But oddly enough.. He felt a similar faith to the one he contained with his Espeon within this woman, feeling that she was quite serious about her desire to have him accompany her in where ever the winding road took them.
And then a bolt of reality struck though the blissful blindness he enjoyed so greatly at the moment. The time.. In their chatting, judging by the moon's position, it had become much later then expected. Of course, it was no concern of his what time they traveled ; he preferred an almost 'nocturnal' life anyway. But this would be the last time he spent time traveling alone, or at least without another human being by his side. "Ah.. It seems that these escapades have led to the time slipping away.." the trainer stated and took a step back, locking with Ayane's gaze to convey the message that he wanted her to follow before coming off the rather large piece of rubble that they both stood upon, his tail coat giving a graceful spin behind him as he swiftly turned around. "Of course, I take no pride in clarifying that my previous statement about the time being critical was no more then a lie," Crescent finished but not before redirecting his gaze towards his new 'companion'. A smooth gust of wind blowing through the area, the northern wind traveling under the night sky, the breeze that made Crescent's jet black hair fall slightly over his face yet it did not stick or seem to block his piercing line of vision that connected with her own. The champion gave a slight nod at the boy's statement; she then read the message in his eyes, and again she nodded. For a moment, the woman waited, watching him as he made his way off the rubble that they were standing upon. Once she took a step forward, he turned around, stating that he had lied to her - and verifying that she had not been almost 'paranoid' for no reason. Yet, unlike any other person she had met, her trust in him did not shatter at that fact; it did not, for she knew that there were things she could comprehend to avoid getting betrayed without warning.
Ayane stepped down and to Crescent's side, Ryuu following closely behind. He was still wary; she could tell, but he seemed to have calmed somewhat more, now that they were traveling companions. As the wind from the north whispered softly, the faintest flicker of a smile came to her lips for a split second. Then, she took out her Salamance's Pokeball and held it. "Return, Ryuu," she whispered, watching as he returned to the device.
Glancing up, the ghost of a smile drifted onto her lips, and then, it grew slightly firmer than before. Now, she and Crescent were companions, almost like partners. And, as icy sapphire met stunning crimson, she knew that their bond, currently not as firm, would grow more powerful the longer they remained together as a team. It brought a feeling almost like comfort to her; she would not be a lone human being in her travels any longer. With their eyes still locked, her gaze seemed to ask, 'Shall we be off?'

To reply to Ayane's stare, Crescent only returned it with a nod before facing his gaze forward and beginning to walk further down the dirt hill that led away from the Ruins, where he vowed by gaze of the waning and waxing moon to bury his ghosts within and it now was the single witness to their pact, the pact to be each other's traveling companion. He could only hope that their relationship would never reach the status of the new moon ; a status of zero visibility, as if nonexistent. For now, Crescent had to coex himself into believing it would never reach such a point, even if it was nothing but a blind hope. For tonight, he'd allow himself to take his first dip within such a fantasy but would never give it the option to ravish his skin in it's divine waters.
However, Espeon sat by Ayane, giving her a questioning gaze as if asking 'Who in the hell are you to even think you can get near my master?'. But none the less, the small feline-like beast heaved itself up onto small, light lavender furred paws to follow it's master whom had once more stopped his pace, awaiting for this new comer to join him at his side. A pact made by the moonlight had now been made, between the Champion and the Cursed. Someone who had seemed to be blessed and another eternally damned, they had found a bond in the most unlikely of places. Fate, maybe.. But for now it was nothing but sinful beauty.

An almost amused feeling rose inside of her as her sapphires passed over those purple eyes; her own eyes would have replied, but then, she felt that it was better to show who she thought she was to be able to near the purple Pokemon's master. That faint smile remained, and she glanced around before almost speeding up the pace to reach the boy. In her opinion, it was as if the moon wished it had a voice, wished it could sing - for suddenly, its light seemed much more beautiful than the woman had ever seen, even if only for a moment.
Keeping beside Crescent, Ayane allowed her thoughts to slowly wander, keeping herself aware of the present, yet also somewhat aware of the thoughts her mind would whisper and discuss. Indeed, it was such a comfortable feeling. Yet, even after the verification of their bond - which was certainly prepared to strengthen, she was still somewhat wary. Yes, she trusted her new companion, but not enough to be certain that betrayal was not prepared to strike once their bond was powerful enough that it hurt greatly. After all, that was how most traitors did their work; fake a bond as strong as possible, then shatter it to traumatize the victim.
Inwardly, she shook herself. No, this was not time to think of it. They had just begun their journey together; she must not be too cautious, or there would be problems. Using her peripheral vision, she glanced at him, and her smile almost slightly grew. Why was she so stupid to believe he would betray her? Just because he was cursed meant nothing. Yes, just because he was cursed did not mean that their bond would lead to harm.
