((Hey, I don't have time to post at the moment, but I'd like to reserve Alvah Articuno, if I may.))

Cold and dark. Nightime. The objective had been to retreive the ancient artifact, which had already been stolen by someone else. And the boat sank, and the only route of communication to the outside world with it. So they had all been alone on this 'frozen, barren wasteland of an island', as Kunisho had called it. He had been the first to freeze to death.
For some reason, she had been sent on this simple retrevial mission. Obviously, she could have gone alone and made it, but something had possessed her higer ups to make sure all of the others were older grunts from Arkon. She didn't mind that she was left out of conversations, stared at as though she was insane. The coldness of this place was like home to her. All she wore was a simple white and black jacket, a pair of black pants, and white gloves. Her hair was down, an unusual occurance. The night had fallen quickly on the team, and unprepared for the onslaught of cold, the other five people with her had slowly started to freeze to death. The sun brought relief to those who were still bundled and shaking with life, though the next night had killed those two.
And yet Annalee lived on, only slightly chilly. She had enough food for six people for a week, so she wouldn't starve. And something had possessed her not to bring her own Pokemon, as she was commanded. Sometimes the intelligence levels of the world annoyed and dissapointed her. She had merely watched as the frozen corpses of her teammates were covered in snow, a burial unlike any other, because there was no permenance. Once the snow melted, their bodies would be left out, and there was nothing anyone could do. She waited for the morning, and once it came, she stood, bones creaking and a sigh making a visible cloud of mist appear near her mouth. And she began to walk, for no reason other than boredom.
The island was actually a forest, or it seemed to have been. The jagged things that had looked like trees from the distance were actually shards of ice, sticking out of the ground. This place was like heaven, though she couldn't just stay here and leave her own Pokemon in the incompetant hands of her team members. If only she had brought them, she could make a life here, alone, but happy. With that thought, a twinge seemed to turn her head to the left, and her brain processed that something wasn't right in that direction.
She followed her instinct, walking farther into the ice forest. As she got closer to the center, she looked around again, exhaling with wonder. Somehow, the ice was turning black. Upon closer inspection of the ice, it seemed like a smoky, swirling mass of black and grey, though it was clearly ice. Something had to have caused this amazing phenomenon, and she was determined to find it. The mere possiblities were endless.
Alone in forest of black ice, she continued to walk, watching the ice grow darker and darker. And when she reached the center of the forest, the sight was amazing. The lake, frozen solid and black. And standing still as stone on the lake, an Articuno. Magnificent. Beautiful... The bird, however, was different. Instead of the blue feathered beast from photographs, this was a dark grey-black-purple color, with an odd, glowing red aura. An Alvah, here? It was almost impossible.
She stared at the bird, wondering how it could even be possible. Yet there he was, standing. His dark, icy stare turned to her, and with one swoop of his powerful wings, he was up in the air, clearly more than a hundred feet above her. The bird stared down at her defiantly, his screech defying the calm and quiet air. She was forced to cover her face with her arm as the ice and snow flew at her at top speeds, pushed away from him by his powerful wing strokes.
Then, as if time itself had stopped, he was standing mere inches away from her, observing her posture and the way she covered her face. =most would turn their backs, ice princess.= He said, making conversation as though she knew him personally. She said, uncovering her face and bowing her head.
His expression changed from caution to curiosity as he watched her, and he gave another head-splitting cry. =you must tell me your life, ice princess.= He said, and after a moment, she started from the beginning, leading up to the point where she was now. Once she had finished, she looked up, as if startled out of a trance. No one knew the entire story, save herself, Neve, and now this Articuno. He stared at her again.
=i will return you to the base for team darkness. and once you get there, i will see to it that you are my trainer.= He said, and with a swoop, she was somehow on his back and they were speeding away, leaving the icy island behind them, a sting in her hand. [Why? You could have other trainers!] She called, wondering if the bird could hear her through the wind. Her hair was torn out of the messy bun, whipping wildly in the wind. =you have power in your command, and you are the ice princess. i have no wish for an incompetant fool to attempt to own me.= He said simply, and the rest of the journey went in silence. Soon, with a trail of black snow behind them, they landed at the base. Everyone was astonished, and the ice princess, as she was now called, was taken to her room, because she was fast asleep.
When she awoke, she looked around and wondered if it had been a dream. Already, there were two fools outside making kami-awful noises. She sat up, glancing at her hand, which was different than before. A large, ice cold, black circle was centered in the palm of her right hand, and suddenly she knew it wasn't a dream. She threw off her blankets, stood, and after her preparations, went to the laboratory to recieve her Alvah Pokemon.

[/center] Username: Amy Character: Rose Uotani Pokemon: Shiny Celebi Roleplay Example: When Rose left her home in Floaroma Town to begin her journey, aged ten, she told herself that she knew what was going to happen. She was heading to Rowan's lab to select a starter- Turtwig, obviously, although had she been able to, she would have chosen a different Grass Pokemon as her first- and had been given items by her mother for the journey, in case she ran into any wild Pokemon on the way.
Rose managed to get herself lost pretty quickly, though. Just outside of Floamora, in fact. After taking a wrong turn, she found herself on some unkempt, out of the way path, with no signs to tell you where it was actually leading you. As it started to get dark, Rose considered going back the way she had already gone, but thought that it might let her parents down if they knew how quickly she'd screwed up.
So instead, she sat under a bush, cramming herself into the tiny space, and tried to sleep rough for the night. Ten year olds are not known for their common sense, after all. Halfway through the night, however, a loud bang woke her up, and she came out of her makeshift 'tent' to find the source. Running through the forest, she eventually came to a clearing, where someone stood over the body of a Stanler, a rifle resting on the man's shoulder as he examined his kill. Ducking behind another bush, Rose watched him carefully.
'Damn creature getting in the way... Where are you hiding?!' he yelled, glancing around the clearing. Rose crouched down even more, thankful for the green outfit her mother had given her the day before. The man pulled a torch from his belt, and flicked it on. Rose bit her lip, and stayed perfectly still, worried that he had heard her coming. Instead, he turned away from her hiding place, and shone the light on the trees, moving it around constantly. 'Come out, vile creature. You'll fetch a higher price if I haven't killed you before I sell you.'
The ten year old wasn't stupid. Most people had heard of the hunters and poachers trying to find rare Pokemon and sell them to the highest bidder. They were bought by collectors mostly, those who saw them as trophies. It didn't matter if they were alive or not, most ended up stuffed eventually anyway. But, now that she was here, she couldn't fight the urge to stop this creep.
Watching the light move from tree to tree, Rose eventually caught a glimpse of the Pokemon the guy was looking for. A small, pink creature shot out of the path of the torch's light, hiding itself in darkness again. Unfortunately, the man looking for it saw as well, and rested his torch on his shoulder, firing at the tree with his rifle.
Rose took her Poketch from her bag, and found the app her dad had installed for her- a silent distress signal, sent straight to the nearest police station, to be used when she was in trouble. 'Well, I'm not the one in trouble here, but I think the situation calls for it.' she thought, sending the signal. Now, all she had to do was hope that the Pokemon- whatever it was- could avoid the hunter long enough for someone to get here.
'Please. Just keep moving. Don't let him get you. Someone is coming to help us.' The girl thought these over and over, as if it might help somehow. She wasn't expecting a response. +Who are you?+ The thought rang, clear as day in her head, but it wasn't hers. The voice it spoke in was soft and slightly hesitant, and not quite human sounding, either. The hairs at the back of her neck stood up, and she resisted the urge to scream. Instead, she responded. 'Rose. And apparently, I'm losing my mind, because I am answering a voice in my head.' The voice didn't seem to pick up on her sarcasm. +You're not the same as him.+ it stated simply. 'Damn right I'm not.' +You are going to get hurt.+ the voice said, sounding sad as it did so. +Because of me.+ 'Someone is coming to help. Fly as far away as you can.' +His Pokemon have created a barrier for me. I can't get out of the clearing. You need to go.+ 'Not a chance. I'm not gonna let this creep hurt you... Whatever you are.'
The way the conversation was taking place no longer seemed to matter to Rose. She had gotten past the original shock, and was trying to just roll with it until she had all the information about how it happened. She was entirely focused on the hunter, and making sure the Pokemon he was after got away.
Her Poketch bleeped, and she felt her body tense. The man turned around, and shone the torch around where she was hiding. Rose held her breath. The app on the watch had bleeped now, which meant that an officer- hopefully more than just one- was close by. She just had to hope that they were quicker than he was to shoot.
The light caught her blonde hair, and she stood up, eyes as steady as possible, and narrowed at the hunter. "What the hell do you think you're doing?" he demanded, stepping forward, gun in hand. "You're not shooting that Pokemon." she answered calmly. "Like you have anything to do with this! Get out of here, before you regret snooping around." "Leave. The. Pokemon. Alone." "The Pokemon." he repeated mockingly, "You stupid little girl. This Celebi is going to make me rich as hell. An odd-coloured rare creature like that... will give me an early retirement."
Rose swore under her breath. 'A Celebi?' she thought, blinking. +Yes.+ the voice answered, catching Rose off guard. +Run now. While you still can.+ 'No way. I'm not letting him touch you.' Annoyed with the silence, the hunter raised his rifle. "Move now, or I'll-"
At that moment, an Arcanine lept into view. Moments later, two more appeared, trapping the hunter and growling at him, teeth bared and claws at the ready. Three officers appeared next to their partner Pokemon within a second. "Drop the gun." one of them commanded, glancing briefly to Rose. "How about, get out of here, or I'll kill all four of you before I kill the God-damn Pokemon!" "Drop it." she repeated stiffly, stepping forward. "Hunting like this is a serious offense. But, you're aware of that, I assume?" "Get the hell away from me!" "And, just what exactly, are you hunting out here?" asked another officer, with short, choppy hair, glancing at the rifle, still pointed at Rose. "Preteen girls as well as rare Pokemon?"
+This has gone on long enough.+ the Celebi said, speaking in Rose's head again. The pink Pokemon flew down swiftly, landing on Rose's shoulder. The officers gasped, and the woman with choppy hair sent her Arcanine toward the hunter instantly, the fire Pokemon neatly pulling the rifle from his hands without much effort. "Apparently, theft is also on your list. Hunting is one thing. Stealing a Pokemon someone owns is a different story. And another offense to add to your list, it would seem."
Rose blinked. "But... She's not... I don't..." The officer who had not yet spoken stood next to Rose, and led her aside, the Arcanine guarding them, whilst the other two grabbed the hunter and cuffed his hands behind his back, pulling all of his equipment from him at the same time. The officer standing with Rose and the Celebi turned to them, and smiled a little. "You're both okay now." she said simply, watching her comrades arrest the hunter. "You don't understand, though..." Rose started, her heart thumping from what had happened. "What's wrong?" the woman asked her. "I mean... This Celebi isn't my Pokemon... I don't have any! I was supposed to get one, from Rowan... But, I got lost, and..." "Hush." the woman stopped her, patting the girl's back gently. "It won't make much difference, he's going down anyway." The officer then looked at the shiny Celebi for a moment. "Well, then, this Celebi was very lucky that you were here by chance. I doubt it would still be here otherwise."
The Celebi stirred for a moment, and looked between the officer and Rose. The woman smiled. "Maybe you'll have a Pokemon now after all." she said, walking away toward the other two for a moment. Rose glanced at the Celebi with an awkward smile. "Um... I guess this is where we say goodbye, then?" she asked out loud. +No.+ The Celebi answered. +What she said was right. I owe you my life... Rose.+ After a pause, the Pokemon added, +And, don't bother speaking out loud to me, I can't answer you without telepathy.+ 'Actually, you could... I, um... I understand Pokemon. It's like, a family trait, or something.' +I'm mute.+ the Pokemon answered simply. +And if you'll accept, I'd like to come with you.+ 'But, why?' +You risked your life for me... You're the first friend I've had.+
Rose smiled, her eyes beginning to well up with tears, and she hugged her new friend tightly. +I can't breathe.+ 'Get used to it.' she answered, though she loosened her hold quickly, and smiled warmly at the Celebi. The officer returned, and grinned at the two. "We're not leaving you here, so you're going to have to come with us until we get to Jubilife. You can stay at the Pokemon Center, and call your parents, too." She looked at the Celebi for a moment. "Is the Pokemon coming with you, or not?"
Rose glanced over, and the pair of them nodded. "Yes, she is."[/blockquote]

[D] Denied due to present tense content. Denied due to a preferably longer roleplay example. Username : Kicklighter Character : Dusty Kicklighter Pokemon : Raikou Roleplay Example Walking down a lonesome path Kicklighter thought aloud," I wonder what it takes to be able to catch a Legendary Pokemon." He shruged the thought off. He walked further down the path until he caught a glimpse of what he believed to be a Raikou. He decided to chase after the glimpse, Kicklighter realized that he could be chasing anything. Although his heart told him that it is a legendary that he had desired to have since he was young. He ran as if his life depended on it. He was soon surrounded by a group of over protective Houndoom. Kicklighter came to an abrupt stop. Eyes wide and no Pokemon to defend himself he tried the only thing he thought of doing, which just so happened to be run. However, being surrounded there was nothing he could do. The Houndooms closed in on him. With nothing left to do he just screamed," RAIKOU! HELP ME PLEASE!" The Houndooms stopped for a moment as if they had known that Raikou was in the surrounding area. After a moment of nothing the Houndooms attention went back to Kicklighter. With nothing left to do he lowered his head and sat on the ground. He felt that this could be the end, so he braced himself for some slight pain. However, after a few minutes he looked up surprised to see only Raikou. "So you are here" he said amazed. The Raikou looked a little battle torn after helping Kicklighter. "Thank you Raikou." Although, the Raikou had helped him it started to bolt away. "Raikou please come back." Kicklighter said. He decided to chase after it once more. Catching up to the Pokemon Kicklighter stopped. He saw Raikou glaring at him. "I don't mean you any harm Raikou, I just wish to be your trainer." Raikou glared more at him then took off. Kicklighter felt as if this was a lost cause, but he desired to catch the legendary Pokemon. He ran after Raikou. He stopped just before he was to enter a small, dark cave," Should I really go in there. The Houndooms were bad enough I could disturb something bigger." He thought aloud. He went against his very instinct. He thought that if Raikou had saved him before maybe Raikou would save him again. Kicklighter walked into the cave a little scared. He walked for what seemed like ages. He soon walked over what seemed to be a small pebble, but was in fact an Aaron. Now angered the Aaron started to cry. A few big Aggron and and Larion popped out to chase Kicklighter. He lowered his head and took in a deep breath. He ran once more. He lost the Pokemon after he ran for a long time. He wasn't sure if he was safe so he just ran. He eventually tripped over a ledge and fell into a small piece of Utopia. This area had a beauty, little spring along with a small forest inside. He wondered just how something like this was able to live in a cave. He walked around the little piece of forest. He thought that maybe Raikou lived in this area." This is the odd place and Raikou probably loves this place," He thought out loud. He walked up to the tiny spring sitting at the edge. He watched the water as it swayed back and forth. He took in a deep breath and looked around. He closed his eyes for a second falling asleep. While Kicklighter was asleep the Raikou walked out of the shadows. It didn't sense any harm in the young man. It began to walk towards him. It laid down next to the trainer. It waited long for the trainer to wake up till it fell asleep itself. Raikou was cuddled up close to the trainer. Kicklighter slurred from his sleep. He sat up, he had not yet realized that Raikou was laying right next to him. He got up and looked around. He saw Raikou and nearly screamed from joy. He held it in and sat next to Raikou. He reached his hand up towards Raikou and started to pet it. () More to come if the application is accepted()
